Telmisartan 40 mg and Rosuvastatin 10mg Tablets - Telmisartan 40mg and Rosuvastatin 10 mg Tablets are the drug medication under the branding of Z-Tel-R. It is formed of two separate drugs, telmisartan and rosuvastatin. This medication is used in the treatment of high blood pressure with high cholesterol. Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by blood on the walls of the blood vessels. There are plenty of reasons for high blood pressure like excess salt in your diet, smoking, not enough exercise, insomnia and obesity. All these factors play a role in contributing to high blood pressure in the body. High blood pressure can have drastic effects on the body and can cause a wide variety of health problems like heart attack, strokes, vascular dementia and aortic aneurysms.

Cholesterol is a sterol compound in the human body and is one of the most important substances in the body. It is a compound utilized in the formation of cell membranes, plasma membranes and hormones. Even though our body requires cholesterol, sometimes our cholesterol intake exceeds our bodily requirements. Due to this reason, excessive cholesterol gets accumulated in the blood vessels which ultimately can cause several problems like heart disease

Telmisartan and rosuvastatin which is a combination of two medications help treat heart diseases by lowering blood pressure and cholesterol in the body. Telmisartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers. Angiotensin is a chemical compound present in our body that can narrow our blood vessels and this can cause high blood vessels as there is a decrease in the area of flow for the blood. Telmisartan relaxes the blood vessels and as a result, more blood can flow through, ultimately lowering the blood pressure of the body.

The second component of this medication is rosuvastatin which is a type of statin and belongs to the class of lipid-lowering molecules. Rosuvastatin inhibits the formation of cholesterol in the body by binding to the enzyme called HMG-CoA-reductase. This HMG-CoA-reductase is an enzyme which is required by the body to synthesize cholesterol. Without this enzyme, the body is not capable of synthesizing cholesterol and ultimately the cholesterol levels of the body are lowered. This medication lowers the LDL which is commonly called bad cholesterol and at the same time, it raises the amount of HDL, which is known as high cholesterol.
