Zimnil-M Ds Syrup is a medicine s that can used to treat pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis and periods. This syrup is a combination of two anti inflammatory drug Mefenamic Acid and Paracetamol. 

How Mefenamic Acid 100 Mg & Paracetamol 250 Mg

Mefenamic Acid and Paracetamol are both medications used for pain relief and fever reduction. They work through different mechanisms in the body.

Mefenamic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that belongs to a class of medications called prostaglandin inhibitors. It works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which are substances in the body that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. By blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain, and inflammation, Mefenamic Acid helps relieve pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual pain, and other mild to moderate pain.

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a painkiller and fever reducer. It works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the brain that signal pain and fever. Paracetamol is commonly used to treat headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, and fevers. It is believed to work primarily in the central nervous system, although the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.

How to use Mefenamic Acid 100 Mg & Paracetamol 250 Mg Tablet

• Take this medication only as directed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered. To do so may increase the chance for side effects.
• The usual adult dose for pain relief is an initial dose of 500 mg orally once, followed by 250 mg orally every 6 hours as needed. The duration of therapy is usually not to exceed 1 week. For the treatment of dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain), the usual adult dose is an initial dose of 500 mg orally once, followed by 250 mg orally every 6 hours as needed. The duration of therapy is 2 to 3 days. Treatment should begin at the onset of bleeding and associated symptoms.
• The dosage for children aged 14 years or older is the same as the adult dosage.
• The dosage for children younger than 14 years has not been established.

• Mefenamic acid should be taken with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset or irritation.
• Mefenamic acid should not be used for more than 7 days at a time, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
• Before taking this medication, inform your doctor about any medical conditions you have, especially if you have a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, asthma, or kidney or liver disease. This information will help your doctor determine if this medication is suitable for you.
• It is advisable to avoid consuming alcohol while taking mefenamic acid, as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
