CORAVOG-0.3  (Voglibose 0.3 mg )Tablet is an oral antidiabetic medication used to manage Type-2 diabetes by controlling  higher  blood sugar after meals. It is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, it works by delaying the breakdown of carbohydrates into glucose, typically taken immediately before meals and often combined with other diabetes medications and is specifically designed to manage postprandial hyperglycemia.By slowing down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine.It is used when other similar medicines along with a restricted diet, are unable to control abnormally high blood sugar levels. It works by slowing carbohydrate digestion and absorption, which helps lower HbA1c levels, reduce cardiovascular risks, and prevent diabetes complications when combined with diet and exercise. 

How Does CORAVOG-0.3(Voglibose 0.3 mg )  Work?

Voglibose works locally in the intestine by inhibiting alpha-glucosidase enzymes responsible for breaking down complex carbohydrates into simple sugars.

 specifically inhibits membrane-bound \(\alpha \)-glucosidase hydrolase enzymes located on the brush border of the small intestine.

By blocking these enzymes, it prevents the breakdown of complex carbohydrates and disaccharides into simple sugars like glucose.

As digestion is slowed, glucose absorption into the bloodstream is delayed, resulting in a more gradual and lower rise in blood sugar levels after meals.

It may increase the release of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), a hormone that enhances insulin secretion and improves insulin sensitivity.

Unlike some other diabetes medications, it does not cause severe hypoglycemia, as it works only on digestion, not on insulin production

This mechanism makes it particularly effective in controlling postprandial glucose levels.
