The combination of Losartan+ Amlodipine belongs to the class of anti-hypersensitive drugs used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). In high blood pressure, blood flows at a very high speed through arteries posing serious risk for cardiovascular disease. Both the active ingredients fall to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists that lowers the blood pressure by widening and relaxing blood vessels. Losartan is used to treat stroke and slow down kidney damage in patients with type 2 diabetes.  Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow. It also helps to lower blood pressure, chest pain (angina), and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease.

Take the medicine as per the prescribed dosage and duration by the doctor. Do not self-medicate the tablets as it might cause serious health effects. Some people may observe symptoms such as sleepiness, taste changes, ankle swelling, headache, flushing (feeling warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), dizziness, tiredness, palpitations (irregular heartbeat), upset stomach, hyperkalemia (increased potassium levels in the blood). Most of the side effects resolve over time and do not require medical attention. If the side effects persist or get severe with time, immediately consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Losartan+ Amlodipine or similar medicines.
